Originally immigrating from Eastern Europe in 1976, Lucian Coltea came to Chicago with no money, a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a dream of building a better life for himself and his family. He began his journey as an individual investor and builder, starting with small single-family renovations and condo-conversion projects. Over a successful 30+ years career, he saw his portfolio grow to $25M+ in assets under management, with several multi-million projects under his belt. After his untimely death in 2018, his son and business partner Julian started Lightman Legacy Management. The name was derived from “Man of Light”, the Latin meaning of the name Lucian, as an homage to his late father, and as a promise to the world of Lightman Legacy’s commitment to carrying on Lucian’s spirit of integrity, entrepreneurship, and excellence.
